General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM)
Course overview
- General nursing and midwifery, a diploma course in nursing started in the institute during 2010 with a vision to cater quality and excellence in nursing education to the candidates especially from areas of poor and backward sections.
- Course is designed to prepare the student nurses to develop knowledge, skills, competencies and standards that required to practice in ever changing health care setting through integration of theory and practice, so the student nurse can assume the position of registered nurse (RNRM) in clinical and public health setting.
- The course of study leading to general nursing and midwifery is a full time diploma program comprises of three completed academic years including internship. The admission procedure shall be based on interview at institutional level.
Eligibility criteria for admission
- 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable. Three (core elective) subject marks may be taken for calculating the percentage of marks excluding the marks in English. Also, it has to be ensured the candidate has pass marks in English.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/State/Centre.
- Registered ANM with pass marks. No parallel / simultaneous attendance in other course during general nursing and midwifery

- Certificate confirming the completion of the qualifying examination.
- Mark sheets for 10th, 12th, and the qualifying examination.
- Original Migration Certificate.
- Official Academic Transcript.
- Provisional Certificate of completion.
- Character Certificate.
- Transfer Certificate or School Leaving Certificate.
