Course overview

Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing course at Dr. Shivajirao Ghogare Institute Of Nursing, Dharashiv, started in the academic year 2013 with a vision to cater quality and excellence in nursing education to the candidates. The course of study leading to Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing is a full time degree program (no part time / no correspondence course) comprises of two completed academic years including research work.
The candidates seeking admission may enroll their names on or before cutoff date, and the procedure of admission is made on first come first serve basis / spot admission at institutional level.

The graduate with Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree Course will be able to –

  • asses health status, identify nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients/clients that contribute to health of individuals, families and communities.
  • demonstrate competency in technique of nursing based on concepts and principles from selected area of nursing, physical, biological and behavioral sciences.
  • demonstrate skills in communication and interpersonal relationship.
  • demonstrate leadership qualities and decision making abilities in various situations.
  • demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in community health settings.
  • demonstrate managerial skills in community health settings.
  • practice ethical values in their personal and professional life.
  • participate in research activities and utilize research findings in improving nursing practice.
  • recognize the need for continued learning for their personal and professional development
  1. Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986, will be eligible for admission.
  2. Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:                                                                                                                     a. O.T. Techniques
     b. Ophthalmic Nursing
     c. Leprosy Nursing
     d. TB Nursing
     e. Psychiatric Nursing
     f.  Neurological and Neuro surgical Nursing
     g. Community Health Nursing
     h. Cancer Nursing
      i.  Orthopedic Nursing 
  3. Colour blind candidates are eligible provided that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
  4. Candidate shall be medically fit.
  5. Married candidates are also eligible for admission.
  6. Students shall be admitted once in a year. No parallel / simultaneous attendance in other course during Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing.

  • Mark sheets for 10th, 12th, and the qualifying examination.
  • Original Migration Certificate.
  • Official Academic Transcript.
  • Provisional Certificate of completion.
  • Character Certificate.
  • Transfer Certificate or School Leaving Certificate.
